Punakaiki Parliament is a speculative parliament design centered around a blurred relationship to landscape, art and site. The project references Michael Heizer as an artist who developed a practise around site specific work. The main objective is to use the art experimentation to strengthen an architectural outcome of a location. The design is comprised of three stilted forms clad in a facade which references the density of the surrounding landscape. Overall the building form blurs it’s relationship to the landscape through it’s conceptual approach, circulation between buildings and facade treatment.
